The Use of Interactional Metadiscourse Markers in English Book Reviews Across Disciplines

The study aimed to investigate the frequency and type of stance engagement features in each move book reviews soft hard disciplines according Hyland’s (2005) Interactional Metadiscourse taxonomy. A corpus 102 published by 30 first quality journals 6 was randomly selected analyzed. results indicated a significant difference between terms markers. Furthermore, Move 2 (Outlining) enjoyed highest features, while 4 (Evaluation) contained least features. Also, observed use markers Introducing, Outlining, Highlighting. However, using markers, only highlighting.
